Teenage girl grabbed as she walked through rec in Frenchwood

A teenage girl has been grabbed by a man while walking through a recreational ground in Preston.

The 16-year-old girl was making her way through Smiths rec between Selbourne Street and George Street in Frenchwood.

She was approached by a man, of Asian origin, who grabbed her arm in the incident around 5.10pm on Friday (1 December).

A passing cyclist disturbed him and he made off.

The girl was left shocked but unhurt and Preston Police say they are unsure of the motive at this stage.

Detective Sgt Ian Moore, of Preston CID, said: “I would appeal for any witnesses, in particular the cyclist who rode past, to get in touch with us.”
