More new affordable housing looks set to go ahead in the Ribbleton area of Preston.
AdvertisementThe brownfield land between Thompson Street and Shakespeare Road, in the St Matthews ward, is to be built on.
Community Gateway Association is redeveloping the land, which previously consisted of eight flats struggling to be rented out.
The former flats were recently demolished after various housing management issues including fly tipping and anti-social behaviour.

The new housing will consist of ten three-bedroom houses, and a new road will be created off Thompson Street to enable access to some of them.
The development will take place from Spring 2018.
One row of three houses will face onto Thompson Street, a row of five will face the new road and a block of two will face onto the existing parking area of the existing houses on the site to create a supervised courtyard space.
The new houses will be two-storeys high, with traditional domestic pitched roofs.
Community Gateway Association submitted a planning application to Preston City Council on 5 December 2017.
Community Gateway Association’s Regeneration Manager, Andrew Mason, said: “The new properties will provide much needed family accommodation at affordable rents and will contribute to delivering CGA’s Corporate Strategies.
“The build, is scheduled to begin in Spring 2018 and will take approximately nine months to complete.”
