Preston Police have issued and appeal for information after the damage to the community garden at Ribbleton Library.

Police say during the weekend someone has gained access to the garden – run by volunteers.

Damage was made to the homemade greenhouse and storage shed.

Bamboo poles were ripped from the ground at the Ribbleton Hall Drive garden – scattering homegrown fruit and vegetables across the garden.

PCSO Andy said: “Although in terms of cost, not a massive amount of damage but it causes quite a bit of disruption for the hard working volunteers who want to see their community library thrive. We believe that this mindless damage is likely to have been caused by teens living nearby.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting 7093@lancashire.pnn.police.uk quoting crime reference SA1718015.
