Traffic light knocked down as Preston city centre road shut

Police have closed a road in Preston city centre after a crash.

A black Volkswagen has hit a traffic light in Corporation Street.

Drivers are also unable to turn right into the road from Marsh Lane due to the crash.

The traffic signal has been severely damaged in the crash and cordoned off by Preston Police.

It’s taken place close to the new student accommodation The Tramshed.

The crash took place around 8am on Sunday (5 November).
