Men armed with machetes raid Spar store near Preston

Two female workers at a Spar shop near Preston were threatened with machetes during a raid.

South Ribble Police have appealed for witnesses after four men, dressed all in black, entered the shop in Walmer Bridge.

They demanded the women open the safe during the incident on Sunday (5 November) around 10.30pm.

Two of the men jumped over the counter and stole a quantity of cigarettes from the shop in Liverpool Old Road, and a quantity of cash and stamps were also taken.

Police say the men, two of whom were carrying machete type weapons, spoke with Liverpool accents.

They were wearing black clothing and balaclavas.
