A Preston photographer has begun capturing the final weeks of the city’s Indoor Market.
AdvertisementPreston Indoor Market, trading since the 1960s, is due to be demolished in the coming years.
Some of the traders will be moving into a new market under the listed Outdoor Covered Market in a new glazed structure.
They were due to move in during the first week of December but a decision was taken to delay the move until early in 2018 – as traders wanted a final Christmas in the current market.

Joseph said: “I’m a Preston born and bred photographer and I have a keen interest in Preston’s history, heritage and architecture.
“I like to capture the characters, the quirks and the architecture, which are woven into the very fabric of our wonderful city.
“Hopefully my photographs will be enjoyed by future generations.
“My latest project is based on the Indoor Market. It’s a Preston institution.
“I have titled this collection ‘Capturing the stories behind the stalls’.”

It is not yet known how many of the current market traders will move into the new market.
