Preston’s university has secured its highest ever position in a global university ranking.
AdvertisementThe Centre for World University Rankings looks at 27,000 degree-award institutions for higher education across the world.
The University of Central Lancashire has moved up to 903rd, placing it in the top 3.3 per cent of universities.
UCLan was rated well for the quality of its education, employability of alumni and producing top quality research.

Vice-chancellor Professor Mike Thomas said: “It is great news to see the University rise up such a prestigious global table and in particular, rank so highly in areas relating to education quality and graduate employment prospects.
“This is the third year in a row that the University of Central Lancashire has improved its status in this particular table, which chimes with our steady improvement in national league tables here in the UK. It’s a fantastic achievement to be among the world’s top higher education institutions and one we’re very proud of.”
In September the university saw itself move up The Sunday Times Good University Guide by eight places. It’s now rated 93rd in the UK.

UCLan has also seen improvement in the THES and Guardian league tables in recent months.
