Road reopens after truck becomes stuck under Preston railway bridge

Police had closed off a road in Cottam after a skip lorry became stuck under a bridge.

Lea Road was shut where its crossed by the railway line close to the UCLan Sports Arena.

The truck was tilted on its side after attempting to fit under the bridge.

Preston Police were in attendance and a recovery truck called in to move the vehicle.

The incident took place shortly before 2.30pm on Friday (27 October).

Police reopened the road around 4.15pm when the truck was towed free from the bridge.
