Yolanda Brown will perform at the Guild Hall this October

A double Mobo-Award winning sax player is set to perform at the Guild Hall in Preston City Centre.

YolanDa Brown will be taking to the stage on 21 October as part of her new album tour.

The two-time MOBO Winner, who has a huge list of accolades and has collaborated with a plethora of A-list stars, released her stunning sophomore album ‘Love Politics War’ in Summer 2017.

Her new album features special guests including Bill Laurance, a pianist from multiple Grammy winners Snarky Puppy, Floacist,Ā from the Grammy winning UK group Floetry, Dame Evelyn Glennie, a three-time Grammy winning percussionist, and vocalists Phebe Edwards and Raheem Devaughn.

YolanDa Brown said: “This time around I wanted to create an album that reflected the current state of the world with its political tensions and its numerous uprisings and protests – with the underlying message that love conquers all.”

Her album, Love Politics War, follows the success of her debut albumĀ April Showers and May Flowers,Ā which debuted atĀ No.1Ā on both theĀ iTunesĀ andĀ Amazon Jazz charts.

It features an eclectic mix of genres, touching on jazz, soul and reggae and includes songs such as ‘Million Billion Love’ and ‘No More War’.

Brown is the UKā€™s leading female saxophonist with a flourishing career and she has been selected as a celebrity ambassador for many organisations including the Prince’s Trust, Children and the Arts, Plan UK, Mayor’s Music Fund and Greater London Assembly’s ‘Learn Music London’ Campaign.

She has also recently been invited to meet the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh at Buckingham Palace.
