Car fire brings Ringway to a standstill

A car fire brought one of the main roads through Preston city centre to a halt on the Wednesday morning commute.

Ringway had lane closures as the vehicle was dealt with.

Close to the turn for the Bus Station, heading towards the Holiday Inn, a silver car had gone up in flames.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were called out to attend to the car.

No one was hurt in the fire, which took place shortly after 7am on Wednesday (25 October).

There’s also standing water on Ringway close to the prison, heading onto Church Street.
