Local man dies in ‘unexplained’ circumstances

Police have launched an investigation after an unexplained death in Preston this morning (September 15).

Police were contacted at shortly after 2.30am by the ambulance service to a report that a man was being treated by paramedics in Aqueduct Street.

The man, believed to be a local man in his 40s, was taken by ambulance to the Royal Preston Hospital where he died at shortly before 3.15am.

The west end of Aqueduct Street remained cordoned off by police at 6.30am this morning.

The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are on-going.

Police are particularly keen to speak to a woman who was at the scene and who moved a bike belonging to the man.

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting log number 131 of September 15.
