Tucked away behind the Guild Hall and opposite the Blitz nightclub the development would have shops on the ground floor and 69 apartments above it.

1618 Architects explain how the flats would have space for 153 residents and be a ‘modern piece of contemporary architecture’.

They propose the flats would be 18 one-bed apartments, 18 two-bed apartments and 33 two-to-three bed apartments.

The proposals have been lodged with Preston City Council and will require planning committee approval.

Anyone with comments on the application can do so via the city council website.
