Bandstand in Miller Park targeted by arsonists

An arson investigation has been launched after vandalism in Miller Park.

The grade-II listed park was targeted on Sunday (10 September) morning.

Smouldering remains of a bin fire were seen by early morning dog walkers.

The rose pagoda bandstand saw a wheelie bin pushed into the middle of it and set alight.

Firefighters were called by one of the park’s gardeners to extinguish the blaze around 7am.

It’s not the first time in recent months the park has been targeted by fire bugs, part of the Swiss Chalet is awaiting repair after an arson attack.

Anyone with information on the fire can call Preston Police on 101.
