Man dies at Bamber Bridge station

Rail services between Preston and Blackburn were stopped on Monday afternoon following a death on the line.

A man died at Bamber Bridge station after being struck by a train.

British Transport Police confirmed the man died around 4pm on Monday (31 July). Paramedics had worked to try and save him.

Police are now working to identify the man involving and inform his family.

A spokesman for the transport police said: “This incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

All lines were reopened around 6pm on Monday.
