Fylde Road closed for resurfacing sparking city centre delays

A busy Preston road was shut throughout Tuesday sparking delays in and around the city centre.

Fylde Road, from its junction with Aqueduct Street, through to where it meets the Adelphi roundabout was closed off.

Lancashire County Council carried out major resurfacing works.

It led to queues at the Adelphi roundabout as traffic was forced to find alternative routes around the closure – using Aqueduct Street and Marsh Lane.

The work had been due to take place during June and July but was put back due to bad weather.

The county council said the work had be done before the end of the summer holidays period.

Some disruption is expected into Wednesday (30 August) as the surface dressing continues.
