Fake news warning about Guild Wheel and cyclists

County Hall chiefs have moved to squash rumours of the Guild Wheel being made off limit to cyclists.

A post made by the ‘City of Preston’ Facebook page implies the county council leader has banned cycling.

A spokesman for Lancashire County Council said: “The Guild Wheel has been an enormous success and we’re very pleased that it’s enjoyed by so many thousands of cyclists and walkers every year.

“There’s absolutely no truth to the story doing the rounds on social media.”
