A major revamp of Hero’s Bar and Uppercrust is proposed.

Part of the furniture between platforms three and four the bar is a regular haunt for those waiting for their trains.

PDS Design and Build have lodged plans to re-do the coffee shop and pub as part of the £2million restoration of the city’s mainline station.

Hero’s Bar would be renamed as the Beerhouse once it reopens.

The name of the bar gave a nod to the role the station played in sending off the Preston Pals and thousands of troops during the wars.

Planning permission is needed for the work as the railway station is a grade-II listed building.
