Armed robbery at Subway store in Preston

Three men armed with a claw hammer and a knife have carried out an armed robbery at a Preston sandwich shop.

Subway in Blackpool Road, near Tulketh Mill, Ashton-on-Ribble, was targeted by the men.

At 9.50pm on Monday (21 August) the men dressed all in black with their faces covered entered the sandwich chain outlet.

A lone worker was threatened with the hammer and knife and cash was demanded from the till.

During the two-minute incident around £100 was taken.

A spokesman for Preston Police said: “This incident has obviously left the worker very shaken and I would appeal to anyone in the area at the time that might have seen something to make contact with police.”
