Arson investigation launched after Ashton house fire

A house in Ashton-on-Ribble was set alight during Saturday afternoon.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service sent two fire crews to the property in Wellington Road.

Around 3pm on Saturday (8 July) they received reports of a fire at the mid-terrace home.

The house was described as being ‘well alight’ when they arrived.

No one was hurt in the fire and an investigation has now been launched to establish the cause.

At this stage firefighters say it was started deliberately.
