A peace meal has taken place in Preston with representatives of different faiths joining together.
AdvertisementHeld by Muslim group The Light Foundation there were Jews, Muslims, Christians and Quakers among the attendees.
Co-founder of the group Nadeem Ashfaq said: “It was an absolutely jam packed evening of what can only and truly be described as an absolutely phenomenal display of ‘Togetherness’ during times where this is most needed hosting peoples of faith and no faith who joined us from near and far at our Interfaith Ramadan ‘Iftar’ Dinner on Thursday evening.
“Much love and a sincere thank you from Light Foundation to our wonderful speakers, Shaykh Adam Kelwick and Shaykh Bilal Brown for their thought provoking messages of love, tolerance and community, and to the beautiful Christian Quaker family for allowing us to use their venue, and for representatives from all faiths and non expressing to bring their own individual dishes of food as a way appreciation and unity, and for the inspiring non Muslims who experienced Ramadan having attended yesterday having fasted throught the day to share that sacred time with Muslims fasting across the world. Thank you for your graciousness.
