PoliceĀ are appealing for information following two robberies which occurred in Preston last week.
AdvertisementThe first incident occurred at around 5.30pm on Thursday (May 18th), on Old Tram Road between the Capitol Centre and the footbridge to Avenham Park.
A group of around three people were approached by two men, in possession of a small axe, who demanded their valuables. The men made off with a phone and cash in the direction of Penwortham.
The second incident occurred minutes later in the same location. A man was approached by two men, again in possession of an axe, and were told to hand over their valuables. The men made off with a phone, wallet and sunglasses.
The incidents are currently being treated as linked.

PC Paul Gilfoyle, of Preston Police, said: āThese were both frightening ordeals for the victims and we would now like to hear from anyone who saw either incident, or who knows anything about them.
āIf you can assist with our enquiries we would urge you to contact us as soon as possible.ā
One of the offenders was described as wearing a black and grey hooded jacket and ski mask. The other was described as wearing a dark jacket and having short blonde hair. Both males are said to have Irish accents.
