The campaign, called #challenge10, involves the midwifery team, students and the midwifery society at UCLan in an effort to host 10 events over 10 months.

Sands is a UK charity and helps to support people who have been affected by the death of a baby; working with health professionals to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care.

They also promote improvements in practice and funding research that could help to reduce the loss of babies’ lives.

The next event being held is a zumbathon on 30 April at Ashton Community Science College, where four local instructors will do zumba fun from 11am.

You can purchase tickets to the zumbathon for £6 via the donation page, but it is requested that you leave your name so they can track who has paid.

Alternatively you can pay £8 on the door, however kids and spectators can attend for £1.

The team has held several events already including a polar swim at Salford Quays, and hopes to hold more events including Yorkshire 3 Peaks, a bikathon, sponsored walks, colour runs, a swimathon and a charity ball in November.

For more updates about the Zumbathon you can follow the Facebook Page or donate via the Just Giving page.
