Local biker club the Preston Posse are holding an Easter Egg Run in the city with the aim of donating Easter eggs and small toys for children in hospital over the Easter period.
AdvertisementThe bikers are inviting anyone to join in and ride with them, including non-bikers who are more than welcome to follow and bring any donations they can gather.
The Easter Egg run, on Sunday 9 April, will begin at the Lea Gate pub and they will be riding to Royal Preston Hospital to drop off the donations.
The bikers first began doing this charity event in 2012 and by the third consecutive year, the number of volunteers had doubled.

Jennifer Mellors, who is helping organise the event, said: “We ride from a convenient pub, last year and this year this being the Lea Gate, and have a ride through town to the hospital armed with chocolate eggs bikers and the public have donated as well as small toys for children who are too sick to eat.
“We do the run because we believe It’s a good cause, and we always welcome publicity to ensure people know about it.
“It puts a smile on children’s faces and we also find It’s a fun ride out, we often have a few drinks together afterwards.
“Events like this keep our community together as well as being charitable.”
The Preston Posse are a well established group ran by Peter Wilson and they hope that this year’s Easter Egg Run will be as successful as previous years.
