Man in hospital after New Hall Lane attack

A man in his 30s was taken to hospital following an assault in the St Matthews area of the city.

Preston Police sectioned off part of Delaware Street, close to where it joins New Hall Lane and where St Matthew’s Church of England primary school is, in connection with the incident on Thursday (13 April).

Police say the victim was taken to Royal Preston Hospital.

An argument is understood to have taken place between three men at around 2.25pm.

A punch was thrown and the victim fell to the floor and stuck his head.

Police say the extent of the victim’s injuries are not known. A cordon was in place for around four hours following the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
