Following an appeal from Preston City Council, who released video footage of the brazen fly-tipping in Fishwick, the van has been recovered.

The city council towed it away, seizing the vehicle under Section 34B of the environmental protection act.

A spokeswoman for the city council: “When we asked for your help, you delivered. Thanks to the people of Preston who commented on and shared our CCTV clip of two males dumping rubbish from a van.”

CCTV footage showed the two men piling unwanted furniture and other items at Fishwick Bottoms during Monday 27 February.
