Steam train fans got a treat during Saturday morning as two steam specials made their way through the city.

Running along the West Coast mainline the Scots Guardsman was one of the engines in action.

Enthusiasts lined bridges at Lightfoot Lane and Maudland Bank to see the steam billow around 11am on Saturday (11 March).

They also stopped at Preston railway station where John Calvert caught these pictures of the trains, including the Leander.
