A Preston-based hospice is expanding its charity shop empire once again.
AdvertisementA second ‘superstore’ for St Catherine’s Hospice is to open in the city.
It means the hospice in Lostock Hall will have 17 stores across Lancashire.
The hospice is remaining tight-lipped about where in Preston the new shop is due to be, but it’s due to be a large-scale one.
Head of trading Rachel Hewitt said: “We can’t reveal too much right now, but we’re all very excited to be working towards opening a new-concept shop with unique offerings this Spring.
“We already have some incredibly popular charity shops and fashion boutiques across Preston, South Ribble and Chorley, including dedicated book and furniture shops, a bridal boutique, and gift shops in the hospice reception and at The Mill café, so we’re keen to offer our loyal customers even more choice and something just a little bit different.”

The shop is recruiting for volunteers to help man the tills and sort through the stock.
Rachel said: “Our volunteers tell us that lending a hand is a great opportunity to meet new people and develop new skills, with the added bonus of flexible hours and a huge sense of satisfaction at giving their time to a worthy, local cause.
“So if you can spare a few hours each week and like the idea of helping a much-loved local charity to develop a brand new shop, whilst making new friends and learning new skills, we’d love to hear from you!”
The charity closed its Walker Street shop in January last year and opened its first Superstore in Fletcher Road at the Guild Trading Estate a month later.
