Nadeem Ashfaq from the group, which represents a cross-section of faiths in Preston, said: “We invite everyone of faith and no faith from our city to come together as human beings in solidarity, to remember those who have lost their lives, express our sympathy with their families and loved ones and to show the world that as people we are more committed than ever to the values that we hold dear and share as one race.
“The people of Preston will not allow evil to divide us and we remain united and open.
The peace vigil takes place on Monday 27 March from 7pm.
Anyone who wants to attend can express their interest on Facebook.
The vigil is due to last for around two hours.
It follows the terror attack at Westminster Bridge on Wednesday (22 March) where four people died, include a police officer who was stabbed to death.
On Thursday (23 March) flags across Preston flew at half mast.
