For those looking for a fitness challenge there’s one which doesn’t involve getting wet.
AdvertisementTri Preston is putting on a duathlon at the University of Central Lancashire’s Sports Arena.
Four of the events take place which are a run and a cycle.
Duathlons see a two mile run, an eight mile cycle and a two mile run – with no swimming.
Ed Culshaw from the triathlon club said: “To those unfamiliar with multi-sport events a duathlon is a run followed by a bike ride followed by a run. It’s a triathlon for those who don’t like swimming!
“Duathlons can be any distance over any terrain, from flat short distance events to brutal long distance ultra-races over mountains and fells.”
