The Ann Summers store on Fishergate, Preston is amongst chains nationwide which is recalling a popular sex toy called the Black Power Wand over fears it could electrocute users.
AdvertisementThe newly refurbished store is displaying a customer notice which reads: “The quality and safety of our products are of paramount importance to us.”
It then continues: “Therefore, as a precautionary measure we are recalling the above product.” before warning that wires in the vibrator could become “exposed at the base of the product over a prolonged period of use”. Isolated cases have told of users being shocked by the exposed wires, which are connected to mains electricity through wall outlets.
The recall was made across the country, in addition to the Ann Summers website. Whilst the issues are said to be in “isolated reports”, the sex shop chain is keen to take precautionary measures. The notice can be seen in the front window of the Fishergate branch.
If you or someone you know owns the Black Power Wand, Ann Summers is urging you to return the product in store, or contact their customer services available through their website.
