Pensioner injured after crash in Penwortham

A pensioner has been taken to hospital after a crash in Penwortham.

Preston Police attended the incident in Leyland Road shortly after 3pm on Monday (6 February).

A blue Ford Fusion driven by a 78-year-old man had collided with a lamppost, near the car wash at the junction with Factory Lane.

The incident saw minor delays in the area as traffic was stopped by police.

The man was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with lower back pain but his injuries are not thought to be serious according to a police spokeswoman.
