A crash has closed part of a main road in South Ribble.

Longmeaneygate near Leyland was shut from the junction with Midge Hall Lane to the junction with Reiver Road. The road was closed in both directions.

The road traffic collision involves one vehicle and took place shortly after 6.30pm on Saturday (18 February).

A female driver was retrieved from the car after it collided with street furniture.. Her injuries are not thought to be serious.

South Ribble Police have advised motorists to use alternative routes and closed the road for safety due to the nature of the road. The road re-opened shortly before 8pm on Saturday.
