Police have uncovered a body in the search for a missing man.

The body was found shortly before 12noon on Saturday (25 February) at Centurion Way in Farington.

Lancashire Police said while the body has yet to be formally identified is is believed to be that of Michael Hutchinson who went missing earlier this week.

Police said at this stage there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.

Mr Hutchinson, 34, had last been seen at an address on Towngate in Leyland on Wednesday.

A police spokesman said: “Our thoughts are with Mr Hutchinson’s family at this time and we would thank to thank all those who helped with the search to find him.”
