More than 170 new homes are due to be built on greenfields in Fulwood.
AdvertisementRedrow Homes is beginning work on its ‘heritage-inspired’ houses in over 20 acres of land off Lightfoot Lane.
The homes are to be built along what will be part of the new Preston East-West link road.
Work on the Lightfoot Lane development follows a smaller Daleside Meadows development which had 19 family homes.
The new homes are due to be three and four bedroom houses, and will have 30 per cent allocated as affordable housing.
Sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire) Claire Jarvis said: “Since launching Daleside Meadows last year we have been involved in lengthy, often complex negotiations to acquire land for this second development. We are pleased to have successfully concluded those discussions and look forward to bringing additional much needed, quality new housing to the area.
“People have already seen the calibre and kerb appeal of our Heritage Collection homes and will know to expect more of the same.”

Work is due to begin in the coming weeks and the homes are due to be available from mid-July onwards.
Redrow are paying £100,000 towards a new bus service which is to run to and from the new housing development.
Thousands of new homes are due to be built across the North West of the city as part of the North West Preston Masterplan – which includes creating a new ‘garden town’.
