Police want to speak to this man in connection with the assault

Police are trying to trace a man after a New Year’s Day attack at a restaurant near Preston.

A member of staff was hurt during the incident at Guy’s Thatched Hamlet in St Michael’s Road, Bilsborrow.

The 21-year-old victim was punched in the face while trying to diffuse an altercation at 1.55am on New Year’s Day.

The staff member suffered a fractured cheekbone during the incident.

DC Richard Brierley, of Preston Police, said: “The member of staff has been left with a painful injury whilst simply trying to calm down an argument which had broken out between customers.

“We would like to speak to the man in the CCTV images as part of our on-going investigation into this incident.”
