England rugby coach Eddie Jones is visiting the city on Monday to help Preston Grasshoppers launch their new pitch.
AdvertisementOne of the first artificial rugby pitches in the country has been funded by the RFU – rugby’s governing body.
Jones is running a training session with young rugby hopefuls at the Hoppers on Monday (16 January) from 6.30pm.
Anyone is welcome to come down and see the new pitch – which will have much greater usage as the Lightfoot Lane ground has struggled with flooding in the past.
During the training the Hoppers will be handing out free tickets to watch the first XV in home action against Scunthorpe and Otley in the next two fixtures.
Refreshments will be available at the ground in Fulwood.
Only six rugby clubs in the country have been granted funding for the new pitches.
