A driver is in hospital after a crash in a rural road on the outskirts of Preston.

Crews from Fulwood and Preston raced to the scene in Haighton Green Lane near Grimsargh.

A car had come off the road and was on its side, trapping the driver.

Firefighters used a brace to stabilise the vehicle and rescued the driver who was taken to Royal Preston Hospital by ambulance.

The incident around 8.36pm on Saturday (14 January) closed the road.

It was one of four incidents across Preston in the space of four hours with two minor crashes at the junction of Broadway and Garstang Road in Fulwood and also outside Booths in Sharoe Green Lane.
