An independent publisher is holding a Bookslam at the Adelphi Pub on Friday (9 December) at 6pm.
Wet Zebra Media is the unique business that relies on a democratic selection process in selecting manuscripts for publishing.
The publisher, which formed just a year ago, is holding the Bookslam to showcase the talent of its writers and authors, with over 45 titles being represented by the company.
The Bookslam will allow the public a chance to view writer’s work in a relaxed and fun environment, where authors will read short passages and answer any questions offered in a communal session.

Wet Zebra Media produces e-books, solid and old-fashioned hard-copy books, along with commonly publishing Fiction, Lifestyle and Business and Finance texts.
The Bookslam is the third event the publisher is holding, and people can attend free of charge.
It will follow on from the Media Day that Wet Zebra Media are holding at UCLan full of interviews and photograph sessions, with them being keen to establish the Preston connection and educate the next generation of writers.
Shaun Fagan, Marketing Director of Wet Zebra Media, said: “The Bookslam is a chance for the public to gain a sense of who our writers are.
“Anyone can become an author. It’s the public who decide if they like the work, which then gets published so it removes any bias.”
“Two founders of our firm are originally from Preston, and we have an intern studying at UCLan, so we are very enthusiastic about our Preston roots and our Bookslam event.”
