Man saved from Preston Docks as emergency services close road

Emergency services have closed off access to Preston Docks due to man falling into the water.

Preston Police and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance at the incident.

They were called to Mariners Way shortly after 10am on Monday (19 December).

Six police cars, one ambulance and one fire engine are at the scene.

A man in his 30s was recovered from the water and is now being treated by paramedics.

A police spokesman said: “Officers attended after the male was pulled to safety by a member of the public using a life ring.

“The man, in his 30s, left the water using steps close to Port Way. He was treated by paramedics and taken to Royal Preston Hospital.”
