Preston university’s new power couple are to be sworn into power, at the same time as Donald Trump takes his oath.
AdvertisementTV presenter and journalist Ranvir Singh becomes the new chancellor of the University of Central Lancashire.
Alongside her vice-chancellor Professor Mike Thomas also dons his robes as he formally takes on the role he has held since December last year.
Taking place at Preston Guild Hall they go through the formal ceremony. On the same afternoon, Friday 20 January, the United States will see its 45th President sworn in.
Ranvir, a regular face on ITV, graduated from the university with a postgraduate diploma in journalism in 2000. She grew up and studied in Preston.
She said at the time of announcing her new role: “I am honoured to be given this opportunity of helping inspire the next generation of talent coming through. I have seen the University’s exciting £200 million Campus Masterplan proposals and the future looks very bright. I can’t wait to be part of it.”
