Culture is to be available for slightly longer in Preston at its landmark museum and library.
AdvertisementThe Harris is opening slightly later on Mondays as part of new hours which follow a trial during the summer of longer opening hours.
7pm closing for the library is to be introduced on Mondays and Wednesdays, replacing the current 8pm close on a Wednesday.
All other opening hours remain the same, with 5pm closing for the Museum on Mondays and Wednesdays although the library is open later.
In July this year the building started opening on Sundays for the first time.
Opening times for the cafe, shop and IT centre remains the same.
New opening hours, which come into force from Monday (7 November), can be found below:
Museum, Art Gallery & Library
Mon 10am-7pm (Museum/Art Gallery 11am-5pm)
Tue 10am-5pm
Wed 10am-7pm (Museum/Art Gallery 10am-5pm)
Thur 10am-5pm
Fri 10am-5pm
Sat 10am-5pm
Sun 11am-4pm
IT Centre Computers open 9am daily,
except Sundays 11am
Café and Shop
Daily 10am-4pm, except Sun 11am-3.30pm
There is no opening on Bank Holidays.
Preston City Council are currently consulting on a major £15m plan for the building, which includes two new entrances.
