What was The Belle Vue in New Hall Lane has seen plans lodged.
The former drinking hole is due to become a new shop and dental surgery.
A previous plan for the pub had seen a proposal to become four flats in March 2016, but these were withdrawn later this year.
PWA Planning has submitted proposals for the Belle Vue and acknowledges concerns about the building – as it is listed as a community asset.

A statement from the firm said: “It has been demonstrated that the proposed development of neighbourhood convenience store and dental surgery at The Belle Vue represents an entirely appropriate form of development within the periphery of the New Hall Lane local centre and should be welcomed and supported.
“The works would result in the re-use of a vacant site and secures long-term, active uses which will significantly contribute to the local economy whilst enhancing local health and wellbeing.”
The new shop and dental surgery would create eight full-time jobs.
