Preston’s Christmas Lights switch on is due to be slightly later this year and signals the start of weekly events in the run up to Christmas.

Last year the lights switch on moved to Fishergate but it is set to return home to the Flag Market.

Organisers had to move the lights switch on last year due to work taking place near the Flag Market and it was crammed into Fishergate instead.
The Christmas Concert is due to take place on Saturday 26 November with a number of performers on a stage near Birley Street.

It starts at 5.15pm and runs until 7.50pm, with Smooth Radio due to present the event.
The event will be free although it is not known yet who will be performing.
