An old fashioned sweet shop is opening in Preston city centre.

Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe is bringing its treats to Fishergate.

Ross Fairbirn has taken on the franchise for the sweet shops which began in Leek in September 2004.

Since then the Victorian-style sweet shops have opened in more than 100 locations.

Mr Fairbirn said: “Mr Simms offers a delicious and delectable collection of traditional and contemporary sweets, candys and a large range of exclusive Mr Simms Fudge and Chocolates all served in a nostalgic Olde Sweet shoppe atmosphere.

“I’m sure Mr Simms will be a great unique addition to the Preston high street.”

The sweet shop is in the Victoria Buildings which are opposite the Fishergate Shopping Centre entrance.

Five full and part-time jobs have been created by the store opening.

The shop opens on Saturday 29 October.
