Teenage cyclist in critical condition after collision in Whitestake

A teenage boy has been left with serious head injuries following a collision in Whitestake.

The 15-year-old  has been taken to Royal Preston Hospital where his condition is described as critical.

The incident happened at around 11pm on Friday evening when the boy was cycling along Chainhouse Lane towards Penwortham Way and was involved in a collision with a vehicle.

Lancashire Police have now launched an investigation to trace the vehicle, which failed to stop at the scene.

They are urging anyone with any information or anyone who may have seen a damaged vehicle following the incident to contact them.
