Part of Church Street is to be closed during weekdays as major work continues in Preston city centre.
AdvertisementTemporary road closures are in force from the Lancaster Road Junction to Wards End – where Tesco Express is – for a fortnight.
Lancashire County Council says it is installing some new lamp columns and stone plinths along the centre of the road.

This means Fishergate Bollard is to get some new cousins up the Church Street end of the road.

Church Street’s section is to be closed from 7am to 5pm on Monday (24 October) to Friday (28 October) and again between the same times on Monday 31 October to Wednesday 2 November.
It comes as the Fishergate paving is extended up part of Church Street and it is eventually due to go around the front of the Guild Hall and to the Bus Station.
