The M6 is closed northbound between Junction 30 (M61 junction) and 31 (Tickled Trout), northbound due to the crash and southbound side was closed so the air ambulance can land.

Highways England have tweeted the incident is a ‘medical emergency’. Police later confirmed a man had died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

Delays are expected in both directions until around 3.30pm on Monday (24 October).
