Drivers heading through Broughton are being warned of delays due to emergency roadworks.

The National Grid are preparing to start repair works on a gas main in Garstang Road.

Stop-go boards are to be used in the stretch between the North West Ambulance Service offices and Broughton police station.

This is likely to cause delays as traffic backs up to the Broughton crossroads and Broughton roundabout where the M55 and M6 meeet.

The roadworks are due to begin on Saturday 5 November and last until Thursday 8 December.

A spokesman for the City Deal board, which is funding the Broughton Bypass, said the works were not part of the bypass scheme.
