Thompsons greengrocers in the ground floor of the St George’s Shopping Centre has closed.

Shoppers reported seeing it closed from Tuesday 30 August.

One customer Dawn Wells said: “I used to go in nearly every week but hadn’t been for a while.

“They were always really nice staff and you got a lot for your money.”

A sign pinned to the shutters said ‘Now closed and will not be reopening’.

No further information has been given by the owners of the greengrocers.

St George’s Shopping Centre confirmed the grocers had closed but no one was available to comment.

The traditional greengrocers was family run and opened seven days a week.
