Preston was hit by thunder and lightning last night after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for the majority of northern England.
AdvertisementThe weather caused disruption to services across the north-west with flights to Manchester Airport diverted to both Leeds and Birmingham.
Those affected by this will welcome the news that there is only approximately a 5% that rain will hit Preston tomorrow.
The day is currently predicted to be mostly clear with highs of around 26C and very high humidity.

The dry weather is then expected to mostly continue until Sunday when that humidity will cause more rain showers. There is however a chance of showers from Thursday to Saturday.
The Met Office chief forecaster said: “A fairly cloudy start to the day, though cloud soon breaking to leave a dry, warm and humid day with good sunny spells. Maximum Temperature 27 °C.
“Largely warm and dry on Thursday, though rain in the north later. Turning cooler and fresher on Friday and Saturday, with showers or outbreaks of mainly light rain.”
